Find out what makes our sustainable dog collars and dog leads so special
Our eco-friendly leather collars and leads are vegetable dyed skins that use no toxic chemicals. This makes our leather more biodegradable.
This is a traditional, lengthy process in our Tuscan tannery that is an environmentally friendly dyeing process, used for centuries by artisan master tanners and handed down from generation to generation.
Only natural tannins from trees and plants are used to dye the leather. Our leather is metal free, does not contain any toxic substances such as azo-dyes, nickel, PCP, or chrome VI which are not only harmful to humans but also to the environment.
No animal is killed for its skin, the raw hides used in the Tuscan tannery are the discarded by products of the food industry. The raw hides are from the slaughter of cattle destined from the outset to the food sector and they come from European farms which comply with EU legislation on animal welfare.
The LISH collars and leads are handcrafted in the UK by skilled saddle makers. The vegetable tanned leather matures over time and actually improves with age and use, creating its own patina of warm tones.

LISH Creative Director Lilly Shahravesh has been designing and using eco friendly leather since 2007 " I've always used as many natural fibres and processes since I started designing for pets back in 2003 so designing using a natural chemical free leather was always top of the list. I particularly love this natural vegetable dyed leather as it's so soft and supple, gentle on your dog's neck and the dog leads are just lovely to hold in your hand "
